Home of traditional yoga
Make time for yourself to recharge and rejuvenate by combining breath, movement and relaxation.
Find balance and inner peace with the ancient Indian practice of yoga.
Yoga is about how it makes you feel inside! Yoga is joy! I want to share this joy with you. Through breathing, relaxing and moving we connect with our mind, body and spirit to enhance our feelings of calm, strength and inner peace. I have experienced so many benefits in my own yoga practice, that I have a passion to share these skills with others. Practicing yoga is a beautiful journey to finding a deeper sense of Self through connecting with the body and finding stillness in the mind.
Yoga has brought many gifts to my life, one of which has been the chance to strengthen my connection with my Indian heritage, my father is Indian from Rajasthan. I felt compelled to study this ancient Indian practice in an authentic and traditional environment. I completed my Yoga Teacher Training in Madurai, India at the Sivanada Ashram, where I deepened my understanding of yoga as a philosophy for life. As a complete system of personal growth and self development.
The studio is a beautiful, calm and bright space. My classes are small, allowing for five students at a time. This gives the class an intimate feel, where you can relax fully, and focus on you.
I can see all my students, and you can see me. In this relaxed environment you can feel less self conscious, more comfortable to ask questions, and receive individual attention. I look forward to welcoming you to my classes!
‘Yoga is the journey of the Self, through the Self, to the Self.’
An ancient Sanskrit text with some of the most powerful teachings in the practice of yoga
Shanta is a wonderful yoga teacher. She has a gentle, professional approach which creates a lovely, calm experience. I highly recommend her yoga sessions. At the end of each session I feel that I have a great stretch that my whole body benefits from. I also get a great sense of relaxation and inner peace, that I sleep much better for after each session!
Yoga with Shanta is a highlight of my week. Shanta combines her gentle and reassuring teaching style with her thorough love of Yoga. She combines the core poses with less common ones so I always got to try something new. Since joining her class I’ve really mastered yoga breathing which is always found tricky before.
I am a complete beginner to yoga, so I booked a one-to-one session with Shanta and felt completely at ease straightaway in the calming atmosphere of her studio. Shanta is a fantastic teacher and also came across as a genuinely warm and caring person. She breaks down the poses, so that they are easy to follow and understand, and also gives variations that are suitable for less flexible beginners like myself.
